Concept Analysis Assignment

Directions: Learning teams will conduct a concept analysis and write an APA-style paper.  Read and become familiar with the eight steps of concept analysis outlined by Walker and Avant (2011). Teams will select a nursing-related concept and explore it in the literature.  Analyze the concept in detail and develop cases to represent a model, borderline, related, and contrary use of the concept.

Paper Guidelines & Grading Rubric (100 points)

Each learning team submits one group paper in APA format (see APA & Writing Resources) A minimum of 10 references.  At least five (5) should be contemporary resources (within 5 years); the remainder of references can be from seminal work, dictionaries, etc.  This assignment does not require an abstract or table of contents.  However, level headings, running head, and U-approved title pages must be included.  Please consult APA & Writing resources for a sample title page and U format requirements.

Refer to N Standardized Point Deductions and the Scholarly Writing Expectation for possible point deductions based on basic grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, and formatting.  For this paper, you may use more than two direct quotes- include the page or paragraph number; otherwise, it is considered plagiarism.   Maximum of 10 pages, not including your U-approved title page or references.  Points will be deducted if the page limit is exceeded.
