Read Chapters 18-19 in the textbook (“The Voice in Delivery”, “The Body in Delivery”) then take a peek at some of the new speakers in the Inaugural Addresses folder. (Don’t miss Phil Davison!) After watching the speakers, write about one example of effective vocal delivery and one of effective non-verbal communication. (That’s two paragraphs total, not two for each speaker.) Remember, we’re focusing on positive examples, even if you choose Phil Davison. In your write-up, please refer to examples in the chapter sections, such as varied intonation, speaking rate, gestures, feelings of immediacy, etc. Show you’ve done the reading.
