· Develop a treatment plan for the patient that includes health promotion and patient education strategies for patients with HEENT conditions.
The Assignment
Case study
A mother brings in her 11 year old son, Branch, because he has had a nosebleed.  She is concerned about it because they have been applying pressure by pinching it and the nosebleed won’t stop.  He has no history of nosebleeds.  He has no significant medical history and no known allergies.  He is on no medications.  Mom and Branch deny trauma to the nose.  He says he just woke up with a nosebleed and it won’t stop.  He tells you that the left side is the side that is bleeding.
Vital signs:  BP 110/70 P 84 R 14 T 97.8 oral Pulse ox 99%
You recognize that simple pressure is not going to stop the nosebleed so you know that you will not have to intervene.

Prior to any      type of procedure, you have the mother sign an informed consent for a      procedures.  What are the three major areas you must discuss      when doing any type of procedure?
Nosebleeds can      be divided into three groups.  What are they?
90% of      nosebleeds fall into which group?
Name 4 indications      for intervention by a provider for a nosebleed.
You place      Branch on the assessment table at approximately 45 degrees.  You      drape him appropriately.  You have him blow his nose gently to      remove clots.  You then inspect the right side to familiarize      yourself with his anatomy.  You then inspect the left side using      a nasal speculum.  When using the nasal speculum, it      is important to use it ______________ (HORIZONTALLY/VERTICALLY).
Why is it      important to use the nasal speculum a certain way?
You note that the      bleeding is coming from an area on the septum.  You know that      the next step is to apply a vasconstrictive solution to the      nose.  What are two ways you can deliver      the vasoconstrictive solution?
You note that      the area that is the source of the bleeding is about 3 mm in      diameter.  You make the decision to use a silver nitrate      stick.    How long should you apply pressure with the      stick?
Why it is it      important not to use the silver nitrate for over that time frame?
After hemostasis is      obtained, what are three types of treatment methods that can be used to      protect the cauterization site?
If that had not      stopped the bleeding and you had to make the decision to use a nasal      sponge or nasal tampon, the sponge/tampon should be coated in      _____________ and left in place for __________ hours.
After putting in the      nasal sponge/tampon, approximately 2 ml of ________ or _______ should be      dripped onto the tip to help the sponge expand.
After placing the      nasal sponge/tampon, the patient should be closely monitored for 3-5      minutes.  Why is that?
After the close      monitoring, the patient should be kept in observation status for ______      minutes.
If a sponge/tampon      is used, it is not necessary to use antibiotics.
If it is      necessary to pack the nose, it may be advisable to give the patient a      narcotic or sedative medication (unless a contraindication      exists).  Why?
Name 5 complications      of the above procedures.
After the procedure,      you tell the pt and his mother that he can take acetaminophen for any      pain/discomfort.  Why is it important not to have him take      ibuprofen?
What is the leading      cause of nosebleeds in adolescents?
What CPT code would      you use for the above procedure?
What is the      definition of the above code?

Address the following:
Create documentation in the Focused SOAP Note Template about the patient in the case study to which you were assigned.
In the Subjective section, provide: • Chief complaint • History of present illness (HPI) • Current medications • Allergies • Patient medical history (PMHx) • Review of systems
In the Objective section, provide: • Physical assessment documentation of systems pertinent to the chief complaint, HPI, and history • Diagnostic results, including any labs, imaging, or other assessments needed to develop the differential diagnoses
In the Assessment section, provide: • At least three differentials with supporting evidence. Explain what rules each differential in or out and justify your primary diagnosis selection. Include pertinent positives and pertinent negatives for the specific patient case.
In the Plan section, provide: • A detailed treatment plan for the patient that addresses each diagnosis, as applicable. Includes documentation of diagnostic studies that will be obtained, referrals to other healthcare providers, therapeutic interventions, education, disposition of the patient, and any planned follow up visits. • A discussion related to health promotion and disease prevention taking into consideration patient factors, PMH, and other risk factors. • Reflections on the case describing insights or lessons learned.
Provide at least three evidence-based, peer-reviewed journal articles or evidenced-based guidelines that relate to this case to support your diagnostics and differentials diagnoses. Be sure they are current (no more than 5 years old) and support the treatment plan in following current standards of care.

Due: Sun, Sep 10 |Printer Friendly Version

Description

One of the first tasks in the development of a virtual Technology Implementation Plan is to determine how virtualization can benefit the organization. Identification of the potential benefits will help match available technologies with the organization’s needs, and it will also allow focus on the key technologies available to implementation.
For this assignment, you will conduct an evaluation of virtual technologies for server and desktop consolidation, data replication, backup and archiving, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and cloud computing. These virtualization categories will be matched to the needs of the organization, and appropriate technologies will be selected for the plan.
The project deliverables are as follows:
· Update the Virtual Technology Implementation Plan document title page with a new date and project name.
· Update the previously completed sections based on instructor feedback.
· Evaluate the impact of virtualization on TSG.
· Complete the following for the Evaluation of Virtualization for the Organization section:
· Review and benefits:
· Explain how virtualization can benefit TSG in the areas of server and desktop consolidation, data replication, backup and archiving, VoIP, and cloud computing.
· Provide general explanations as well as specific examples that use measurable outcomes.
· Comparison and matching:
· Compare the technologies that you reviewed in the review and benefits section with the virtual technologies reviewed in Unit 1.
· Analyze and match available technologies with the needs of the organization.
· At this stage, you will likely be making recommendations to the TSG executive management that could require significant investments and major changes in the way the company does business.
· Considering these potential impacts on the company, you will need to include a significant level of justification for your recommendations.

What is the Clozapine REMS? What are the serious side effects of clozapine? Explain the requirements for prescribing and patient monitoring, and what changes would you make depending on the results.

Case study for Week 4 (Woody)
Woody is a 30-year-old male who presents in your office with a history of psychosis starting at age 21. He started becoming psychotic and paranoid while living with roommates in college. He was noted to withdraw and worry about the government spying on him. He decided that he could only eat white foods like cottage cheese, frozen yogurt, and vanilla ice cream. His roommates noticed that he began talking to himself, started hiding from others, and quit going to class so they called his mom who took him to the hospital and began getting his treatment and moved home with his mom.
He was started on olanzapine and did well for two years, but it was discontinued. He was then changed to an SGA which made it painful and hard to keep his legs still. He trialed another Second Generation Antipsychotic next that was dosed high very quickly and he began to experience gynecomastia. Some mood stabilizers were trialed, but one caused tremors and he became toxic when dehydrated. He was then hospitalized for malnutrition after he stopped eating. He claimed that he was chosen, and it was time to fast for the month. While inpatient, he was treated for dehydration and given Haldol which was effective for his psychosis, and he was discharged in stable condition. He remained on Haldol for a year and was able to work at the local grocery until he became to display some severe EPS making it difficult for him to continue bagging groceries at the store.
After losing his job he began to start withdrawing and refusing his medication. He began to start hiding from the mailman every day thinking that the government was spying on him. He said that the military was whispering in his ear telling him to kill himself to protect the world. He attempted to hang himself with his bedsheet, but his mom walked in and saved him. He was immediately admitted to the hospital. He continued to have suicidal ideations and whispered so that the government could not hear him.
Answer each of the following questions about this case:

What is your working diagnosis? What are 2-3 most likely differential diagnoses? Why would you consider each differential for this case?
Which labs would you want to order and why? (Think about what organic causes of psychosis you would want to rule out)
What are the 5 components of a suicide risk assessment that need to be asked each shift until he no longer is suicidal? (See PowerPoint/Kaltura from Module1).
What additional resources could be helpful for this patient and his family?

General Questions related to this case and similar cases where antipsychotic and mood-stabilizing medications are prescribed:

Both delusions and hallucinations are part of the constellation of symptoms of psychosis. How are they different?
What are some organic conditions that may present with symptoms of psychosis?
What side effects of antipsychotic medications could be so troublesome that they get in the way of normal everyday activities?
Which SGA is most likely to cause gynecomastia and why? What questions would you ask your patient to assess for this side effect and what lab would you order for monitoring?
What are the indications for prescribing a Long-Acting Injectable (LAI) antipsychotic? What must occur prior to starting an LAI?
What mood-stabilizing medication is most likely to cause tremors and dehydration? What special monitoring does this medication require?
What is the Clozapine REMS? What are the serious side effects of clozapine? Explain the requirements for prescribing and patient monitoring, and what changes would you make depending on the results.
Do you agree that Clozapine should be reserved for patients who have failed multiple previous trials of antipsychotic medications?
What are the special considerations for each of the following frequently prescribed Second-Generation Antipsychotics? (For example which one is most likely to cause gynecomastia, which has been associated with akathisia, which is more highly associated with the chance for prolonged QTC interval in which an EKG may be helpful for a baseline, which is more weight neutral, which is more sedating, etc)

Identifies and explains three promotional strategies based on data and knowledge

FACS 381 Fashion Promotion

Reading Exercise-2 Total points: 20

Objective: It is important for retailers to understand consumer behavior. Retailers use this information in marketing segmentation and development of retail promotion strategies. The goal of this exercise is help you conduct research, study consumer profiles from specific area and use consumer information to comprehend consumer demographic, geographic and psychographic characteristics in order to develop promotional strategies to influence consumer behavior. This activity will support your research and analytical skills.

Hypothetical Situation: Suppose you are starting a new business in your hometown, selling a product like jeans. You have limited understanding about your target consumers and are unsure about the type of product that will sell in that area, the appropriate price point, place/distribution channel, and promotional strategies need to attract consumers to your product. To gain deeper insight of consumer in your hometown, you have decided to conduct research and use resources from Claritas Inc.

Note that retailers use several global marketing research firms to understand target consumers.
Claritas Inc. is one of such market research and data analytics company that specializes in providing consumer segmentation and demographic data to businesses and organizations. They gather and analyze data from various sources, including surveys, public records, and proprietary sources, to create detailed profiles of consumer behavior, preferences, and demographics. One of their primary offerings is the
Claritas PRIZM segmentation system, which classifies U.S. households into
64 distinct segments (see segments on this link:

https://claritas360.claritas.com/mybestsegments/#segDetails

) based on various factors such as income, age, lifestyle, and location.
These segments help businesses and marketers better understand and target specific consumer groups for their products and services.

Important Note: You MUST review this video to begin using Claritas360:

To conduct your research, visit the Claritas 360 website:
https://claritas360.claritas.com/mybestsegments/ and locate the ‘ZIP Code Lookup’ feature. Enter the Zipcode of your hometown. Clarity will automatically generate a report containing information about specific consumer segments, consumer demographic, lifestyle and media traits.

Based on the report, write a
1-2 page reflection paper. Don’t just repeat back the data! Take this opportunity to think about your hometown and analyze the potential business opportunities, as well as positive and negative factors that may impact your new business. Consider the following points in developing your reflection paper:

1. Discuss
demographic characteristics on your target consumer such as population in your area, average age, education, income, family composition, race etc., and how it may impact product quality, price, place and promotional strategies.

2. Explain
psychographic characteristics such as lifestyle, interest, personality, etc. To interpret psychographic profile, think about where do you target customers eat, play, shop and travel? Again, relate this information to exploring how it may impact product quality, price, place and promotional strategies.

3. Consider
media usage, consumer use in day-to-day activities and the most effective
promotional strategy to reach out to your target customers? Finally, identify atleast three promotional strategies (think about promotional mix you have learnt in Ch. 1) that you will chose to reach your consumers, and explain why those strategies will be effective in selling your product.

4. Overall, how the above information will impact your business plan. To strengthen your reflection report, you can use images of 2-3 specific products that you wish to sell.
Use only fashion apparel related product.

Submission Requirement:

· Reflection paper (1-2 pages).
You MUST include your ZIP code in your report.

Without a ZIP code, you will receive a zero since there is no way for me to verify the information discussed in your reflection paper.

· Follow formatting requirements provided in course syllabus.

What ways can you identify compassion fatigue in others?

Please answer the questions below in one page or less, include APA references, as needed.
Week 6 Discussion Question #6
Chapter 30 in your textbook deals with Home Health and Hospice Care
Please review Chapter 30, read the information below on Compassion Fatigue, and answer the questions below
BOX 30-9 Evidence-Based Practice
Nurses and Compassion Fatigue
Do you wonder how hospice nurses sustain compassionate practice as they work every day with suffering patients who always die? Expert hospice nurses embrace the suffering of the client and family and become susceptible to compassion fatigue. Compassion fatigue is often viewed as secondary stress. It is the stress felt by the caregiver from exposure to a traumatization. Nurses often describe this as overload. Although signs of compassion fatigue are individualized, they often include exhaustion and a reduced ability to express empathy for the client. This may result in withdrawal by the nurse emotionally from the client and family, as well as the role of nurse.
Staying psychologically as well as physically healthy as a hospice nurse requires a high level of self-awareness. Nurses must be aware of the signs and symptoms that they may have a tendency to exhibit. Symptoms are individualized based on how a particular nurse adapted to stress in the past and are often subject to developmental, spiritual, cultural, and environmental influences. Recognition of the symptoms allows the hospice nurse to institute stress-relieving activities early in the process. According to the Compassion Fatigue Awareness Project (2017), some symptoms that a nurse may experience include the following:
Isolating oneself; poor self-care (appearance, hygiene)Repressed emotions; apathy; mentally/physically exhaustedAlways finding blame with others; many complaints about job/administrationSubstance abuse; compulsive behaviors (e.g., eating, spending, gambling)In debt; legal problems; recurrent flashbacks/nightmares; chronic health problemsProblems concentrating; feeling preoccupied; denies problemsCompassion fatigue can affect an agency, if enough nurses suffer from the problem and nothing is done to assist them. It can cause problems between nurses and administrators, lead to high turnover and absenteeism, and lead to self-perpetuation. Organizations may exhibit these symptoms:
Poor teamwork; high absentee rates; continually changing coworker relationshipsChallenging/breaking agency rules; aggression among staff membersPoor task/assignment completion; unable to meet deadlines; lack of flexibilityNegative feelings toward management; reluctance toward changePoor vision of future; not able to believe that improvements can be made(Compassion Fatigue Awareness Project, 2017)
Compassion fatigue is not isolated to hospice nurses. All nurses are susceptible to the effects. This may lead to higher rates of turnover and an increase in the nursing shortage as nurses leave the profession.
Often, caregivers experiencing compassion fatigue are unable to identify it in themselves.
Answer EACH question below:
1. What ways can you identify compassion fatigue in others?
2. What recommendations can you make to reduce compassion fatigue for yourself?
3. How can you transform your organization to reduce compassion fatigue?
Source: Compassion Fatigue Awareness Project (2017); Upton (2018).
Once you have answered this DQ with at least 100 – 150 words, you will need to respond to at least one of your classmate’s posts with at least 50 – 100 words. Failure to respond to at least one of your classmate’s reponses will result in a score of no more than 80% for the week.  Please reference your response in APA format.

What must be done? On a personal, organizational, and societal level, how should we respond to homelessness?

The will be an exercise of critical reflection upon the student’s experiential learning, readings, online discussions, research, quizzes, and journal work. Include a bibliography at the end of the critical reflection, which should be 5-6 pages.
FINAL CRITICAL REFLECTION IS THE VINCENTIAN QUESTION:
What must be done? On a personal, organizational, and societal level, how should we respond to homelessness?
Please use at least 6 sources. Be sure to dedicate and clearly label two pages to each of your responses:  your personal response; your organizational response; and your societal response.
I.  (“I”) – How should I respond to homelessness?  For your personal response, please be sure to include:

If experienced, include any moment or point (a particular video, a reading, a classmate’s post, etc.) this past quarter when you noticed a change in you and/or a change in your previous understanding of homelessness.
How has, if at all, your experience in this class connected you to your spiritual or interior self?
How, if at all, have I seen spirituality and homelessness connected through the experience of this course?
What must I do about homelessness?  What realistic commitment(s) can I make?

II.  (“You”) – What must you (a selected organization) do?  Select an organizational example below to respond from this “you” perspective.  Examples of organizational response include (not limited to):

A School/Institution of Higher Education
A Church/Faith Community
A Business
A Civic Organization

Please address the questions below to your organizational response: What should be done? How should it be done? When should it be done? What resources will be necessary for it to be done well? Where will the resources come from? Who should do it?
So, for example, if I chose my place of worship, or my daughter’s school, or Dominican University, or my internship organization, or a company I worked for, I would respond to these highlighted questions above having done research about how that organizational example currently addresses homelessness, and, based on the question prompts above, how from your research and insight the organization should respond to homelessness.  Be sure to begin with a baseline of research for your organizational example to what it already is doing, and build upon that existing response to homelessness with your what must be done analysis.
III.  (“We”) – What must we (society) do?  Choose one of the societal response options below:

United States Policy Context/Approach (laws, funding, congressional bills, etc.)

Please address policy at a local, state, and/or national level.

Provide research into and a brief overview of a current policy example addressing homelessness at the local, state, and/or national level.
What is your analysis of this policy in light of the question:  What must society do about homelessness?  Where is the policy addressing homelessness well and where does it fall short?
What (more) must be done to address homelessness at this level of policy you selected?

Another Country’s Policy Context/Approach

Please choose a country
Please address policy at a local, regional, and/or national level.

Provide research into and a brief overview of a current policy example addressing homelessness at the local, regional, and/or national level.
What is your analysis of this policy in light of the question:  What must society do about homelessness?  Where is the policy addressing homelessness well and where does it fall short?
What (more) must be done to address homelessness at this level of policy you selected?

Assignment #2
Creative writing in response to literature is a way for students to respond to literature in a personal way. Creative writing provides a way for students to practice critical thinking and develop a stronger understanding of literary criticism while showing creativity and a bit of their own personalities. For this creative writing assignment, you will do a character analysis to allow you to get inside the mind of one of the characters. “Rip Van Winkle” and “Young Goodman Brown” are told as third-person narratives, not as first-person narratives. The difference is that a third-person narrative presents the characters to us in the words of a narrator rather than from the words of the characters themselves. The story contains descriptions such as “Rip Van Winkle did this” or “Young Goodman Brown said that,” but it’s not as if the characters themselves are telling everything from their perspective. Of course, sometimes they speak in the story, but they do not get to tell the story or what they thinking or feeling. It is up to the reader to determine what the characters might be thinking or feeling. For this assignment, choose one of the following options: (A) Imagine you are Rip Van Winkle’s daughter, Judith, writing a journal entry after her father reappears after 20 years. Try to get into the mind of Judith. Be imaginative and creative. Pretend you are Judith and have just seen your father after he has been missing for 20 years. Communicate in a manner that is professional and consistent with expectations for members of the business professions.

Scenario
Hopkins Chocolate Company buys green cocoa beans that are processed into consumer products. Cocoa beans are currently selling for $2,000 United States Dollars (USD) per metric ton. Hopkins buys 100 tons at a time from Abamo Chocolate in Ghana, Africa. Normal purchase procedures stipulate that the purchase contract is denominated in Ghanaian Cedi and payment in Cedi is due 90 days after purchase.
Recently, the treasurer of Hopkins became concerned that the U.S. Dollar would change in value against the Ghanaian Cedi. Consequently, Hopkins bought a 90-day option.
Your Role
You are the controller for Hopkins Chocolate Company.
Requirements
As the controller of Hopkins Chocolate Company, you work closely with the treasurer. She has requested that you prepare a report to help explain the recent purchase of the 90-day option to members of the board of directors. Address the following in your report (3–5 pages):

Discuss the nature of derivative financial instruments.
Explain the factors that might influence the value of the USD against the Ghanaian Cedi. Discuss at least three factors.
Hopkins bought a 90-day option to exchange $200,000 USD for 900,000 Cedi. They paid $8,000 USD for the option and today it has been 90 days. Locate today’s value of the Cedi at XE.com’s Live Exchange Rates and calculate how much Hopkins won or lost by purchasing the 90-day option. Explain your calculations in detail.
Discuss how Hopkins could use a defined purchase contract to hedge against a change in exchange rate between the USD and the Cedi.

Deliverable Format
Since you plan to share your report with the treasurer and the board of directors, you want this report to be clear, well-organized, and readable. Your supervisor has requested that your report be 2-3 pages so that you have enough space to develop your ideas and provide some scholarly and/or professional context.

Communication: Communicate in a manner that is scholarly, professional, and consistent with the needs and expectations of senior corporate leadership and other stakeholders. For this scenario, assume the treasurer and the board of directors expect original work, critical thinking, and scholarly sources. Your writing must be free of errors that detract from the overall message.
Your report is a professional document and should therefore follow the corresponding MBA Academic and Professional Document Guidelines, including single-spaced paragraphs.
Resources: At least three resources that are scholarly and/or professional. So that your imaginary board of directors can locate more information about derivative instruments and currency options, include a reference page at the end of your report.
Report length: Minimum of 2-3 pages, not including reference pages.
Font and font size: Times New Roman, 12 pt.

Faculty will use the scoring guide to review your deliverable as if s/he were a director on the board. Review the scoring guide prior to developing and submitting your assessment.

Describe the technologies, hardware, and software used within the information technology field

Competency
In this project, you will demonstrate your mastery of the following competency:

Describe the technologies, hardware, and software used within the information technology field

Scenario
You are working as a contracted information technology specialist. You have been contacted by James Otis Tax Associates, a small tax preparation company. The company is growing rapidly and is opening a new office. They are focused on hiring and retaining the best in the field, and they believe that one way to do this is to provide every employee with the appropriate tools and technology they need to effectively complete their work. Your company has been asked to provide its expertise in identifying the technology components needed for the computer systems and network for the three employees in the new office. They would also like you to address the security needs of the various employees.
Directions
The manager at James Otis Tax Associates has asked you to submit a report describing the technology hardware and software needed to build a computer network for the new office. The manager has asked you to describe the computer system for each new employee, including an explanation of the purpose for each selected technology component, and to identify specific software programs that the employees would need. He has also asked you to describe the security measures needed to support the systems. In your explanation, include how your knowledge of human-computer interaction (HCI) impacted your choices for each component.
The manager has provided the following employee descriptions:

Certified Public Accountant (CPA): The CPA is a senior position at a tax preparation company. The CPA will be not only handling sensitive customer data from personal tax returns but also preparing tax returns for corporate clients. The CPA is also responsible for the personal tax returns filled out by the tax and data-entry specialist employees.
Tax Specialist: The tax specialist has the dual role of entering data and verifying that tax returns are correct. This position involves customer interaction in gathering data for minimizing taxes owed or maximizing tax refunds.
Data-Entry Specialist: This position requires data entry for personal tax returns for customers who walk in the door. Although the data-entry specialist works with sensitive customer data, they do not have access to the tax returns once the returns are submitted to the tax specialist for review.

For each employee, you must:

Describe all hardware components, including peripherals, needed to create the systems
Identify specific software programs (more than one) that would be beneficial to each identified employee. Programs could include:

Operating systems
Applications such as:

Office automation products
Security products

Describe security measures needed to support this system. Security measures could focus on:

Access
Administration and user passwords
Firewalls

Along with each description, explain the purpose of each technology component in each system. In your explanation, include how your knowledge of human-computer interaction (HCI) impacted your choices for components.
Finally, choose a network topology that could be used to connect all of the new employees identified by the manager. Create a Visio diagram to identify the networking equipment needed to enable the workflow between the employees.
What to Submit
To complete this project, you must submit the following:
Technology Needs ReportYour technology needs report should be 3–4 pages in length. For each of the new employees, you must describe all hardware components needed to create the system, identify specific software programs that the employees would need, and describe security measures needed to support the systems. Along with each description, explain the purpose of each technology component in each system. In your explanation, include how your knowledge of human-computer interaction (HCI) impacted your choices for each component.
Network DiagramYou have also been asked to include a visual representation of the topology you selected and the network equipment needed to support interactions between these employees. Use Visio if possible to create a 1-page (or 1-slide) diagram that identifies the networking equipment needed to enable the workflow between these employees.
