Single sign-on allows users to connect to all of their web applications by using only one set of credentials. End users only have to remember a single unique password instead of different passwords for each app. This lowers the risk of users using the same password for each app. Single sign-on makes it easier for the IT team to monitor and control user credentials. Using good SSO practices can reduce the likelihood of password related attacks. Single sign-on can be expensive to initially set up. Having SSO on a shared device can cause issues.

The industry I chose is the healthcare industry. I believe that SSO with multifactor authentication would be the best sign on architecture for this type of industry. With healthcare, a second factor of authorization can help better protect the PHI of their patients. In the event that a password was stolen, the malicious user can’t gain access without the second form of authorization. Once the end user confirms who they are, SSO makes sure that they should have access to the application they are trying to use.

wealth literacy and how low-income families budget each month

A researcher is interested in wealth literacy and how low-income families budget each month, identifying and balancing necessities with items that might be considered luxuries.  She begins by conducting a small focus group, asking open-ended questions about budgeting and letting the group take the topic wherever they choose.  From their responses, she develops a more extensive set of interview questions and conducts a series of individual interviews over a six-month period.  After analyzing the data, she develops a detailed survey, which she administers to a large sample of families, asking them to fill it out every other month for a year. Name 5 questions should she include on her survey and why are your questions important?

Discussion board postings should be of quality rather than quantity. Post your initial response to question. Responses must be at least 200 words. You should be answering as professional in the field and not just students in this course. Use the resources in your text as well as your past and present experience in the field of education. This discussion board is not just an assignment, but your introduction to becoming a leader among your peers.

  • Expand on your colleague’s posting.

The article chosen for this assignment is therapy for individuals who are child sexual offenders (adults committing this act) who are living in Norway (Cooper & Holgersen, 2016).  These individuals were questioned on the perceived outcomes of the treatment they received and to determine what has worked for them from the treatment process (Cooper & Holgersen, 2016).  Clients attended a specific treatment center in Norway designed specifically to address fantasies, desires, feelings, and experiences related to their sexual selves.  The clinic specializes in treatment of individuals with sex crimes.  These specific individuals have sex crimes involving a child, or pedophilia (Cooper & Holgersen, 2016).

Relapse and Harm Reduction models are likely the closest models to this treatment model implemented in Norway (Geyer, 2009).  Relapse model accepts some degree of problems arising and allows a person to work them out- and harm reduction helps an individual to determine “safer” alternatives to behaviors that carry significant risk (Geyer, 2009).  Working with individuals in the clinic in Norway, the providers address different aspects of sexuality, history, mental health, and the crimes themselves to assist the individual to understand their own behaviors.  This can be a tool in the two models of treatment in this population (Geyer, 2009).

In week three, we were looking at rights ethics with regards to Locke. As a reminder, Locke said we have inalienable rights to life, liberty, and property. It is immoral to violate them. Many think we have more rights than those listed by Locke. Some even think we have a right to health care. That means it is the duty of the state to provide each citizen with their medical needs.

Rights theory says to respect the entitlements we have. If a right is inalienable, it cannot truly be violated ethically even with our consent. We have basic needs. Rights are something beyond needs. They are what we should be authorized to have. We are due what we have a right to. That is not always the case with need. For example, we need food, but people often go hungry. A need refers to something we need physically to exist. A right is a moral entitlement to something. Asking if we have a right to food is a moral question. Needs are determined by the requirements of the body and of material existence. Rights are determined by moral reflection, inquiry, an argument We have a right to own property. We do not need it to live. We could imaginably be allowed to use another’s. We have a right to own a home. We can rent.

For the initial post, respond to one of the following options, and label the beginning of your post indicating either Option 1 or Option 2:

Option 1: Assess the moral solutions arrived at through “care” (care-based ethics) and “rights” ethics to social issues of ethical import such as poverty, drug use, and/or lack of health care,

That is, note any ethical problems that arise related to those particular issues. Then, say how both care-based and rights theory of ethics would solve those problems.

Are those solutions correct? Why or why not?

What is your own approach there?

Option 2: What moral guidelines should we use when it comes to recently introduced healthcare technologies of any kind (you will note and engage with your own examples) and social technologies of any kind (you will note and engage with your own examples)?

Involve care-based ethics in your answer

Assignment 2: LASA 1: Case Studies Presentation
create a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation to educate a group of medical students participating in their grand rounds. There should be at least ten slides in your Microsoft PowerPoint as well as a title slide and a slide listing all your sources for creating this slideshow. You should also create speaker notes for each slide of your presentation, which include the main talking points for the topic addressed on the slide. Save the presentation as
In order to create your slideshow, review the two case studies and then answer the questions following each case study:
Case Study 1: Isaac is a fifty-nine-year-old man. Several months ago, he noticed a slight tremor in his hands. He assumed this to be a normal consequence of aging. The tremor, however, gradually worsened, along with some muscular stiffness and slowness in initiating movement. The tremor was more pronounced when he was not voluntarily moving. Isaac was referred to a neurologist, who diagnosed him with Parkinson’s disease. After visiting the neurologist, Isaac and his family ask you to further explain this disorder. Isaac also asks about L-dopa as a treatment—the neurologist had mentioned L-dopa as an effective medication but had instead prescribed selegiline:

What are the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease?
What are the possible causes? Be sure to discuss both hereditary and environmental factors thought to contribute to this disease.
What parts of the brain does this disease affect?
Why do you think the neurologist prescribed selegiline instead of L-dopa?

Case Study 2: Sabrina is a twenty-seven-year-old woman who recently underwent a corpus callosotomy. Initially after surgery, when given a verbal command, Sabrina demonstrated marked apraxia of the left hand. However, the extent of this issue diminished over time. Answer the following questions about this client:

What disorder was most likely being treated by this operation, and how is the surgery performed?
In what way is the surgery expected to help Sabrina?
What are the risks and benefits of the surgery? Compare these to the risks and benefits of an alternative treatment. If the decision were yours, which would you recommend? Explain your decision.
What was the cause of the apraxia?
What does the reduction in apraxia symptoms tell us about hemispheric specialization?
