Description
‘Bank to the future’: the future of bank risk management
Formulate a view about what the bank of the future may look like and the implications of your vision for the types of risk the bank will be exposed to, and what would need to happen to ensure the effective management of these risks.
Present your view on what the bank of the future may look like, describing the nature of its
activities and the environment in which it operates.

In light of the nature of the bank of the future’s activities and, based on current trends and
emerging risks, identify and describe the risks the bank is likely to face and evaluate the
implications of these risks for the bank’s effective risk management.

Assess the extent to which regulatory responses to these risks will be required to improve
bank risk management, with a view to keeping the bank of the future safe and sound and
maintaining the stability of the financial system.

Assess the ways in which the bank of the future will manage its key risks, and critically
reflect on the extent to which adoption of a holistic, or enterprise wide, approach to risk
management will be effective in measuring, monitoring and mitigating the risks to which
the bank is exposed.

Critically assess the ways in which best practice in risk management, including governance,
could be applied to build and embed an effective risk culture in the bank of the future.

Discussion of the July 9, 2021, Presidential Executive Order on Promoting Competition in the American Economy

July 9, 2021, Presidential Executive Order on Promoting Competition in the American Economy. The proposed Order tackles four areas where lack of competition in healthcare increases prices and reduces access to quality care. One area outlined is prescription drugs. Americans pay more than 2.5 times as much for the same prescription drugs as peer countries, and sometimes much more.
In the Order, the President directs the Food and Drug Administration to work with states and tribes to safely import prescription drugs from Canada, pursuant to the Medicare Modernization Act of 2003.
1. Do you or do you not support the importing of prescription drugs from Canada or any other country?
2. Explain your position, why you do or do not support the importing of prescription drugs from other countries.
3. Write a brief summary statement explaining the benefit of importing prescription drugs or a brief summary statement explaining the problem with importing prescription drugs.

Critically evaluate scientific evidence regarding health claim

In Australia, we spend hundreds of billions of dollars every year in the pursuit of greater health.
One result of this tendency is that we find ourselves bombarded with health claims: claims about how a food or other product can improve one’s health.
As part of the next generation of health care professionals, it is important that you are able to critically evaluate whether or not such health claims are supported by evidence. That is what this unit will help you to do.
In this first task, you will develop your knowledge of a particular health claim.
Later, you will learn:
i) how to critically evaluate scientific evidence regarding that same health claim, and.
ii) how to communicate your knowledge regarding that health claim to those to whom it is directed.
INSTRUCTIONS
The task:
Your goal in this essay is to evaluate the importance of your chosen health claim. (Note: your topic must be approved by your instructor before you start your research for this assessment).
Put simply, if a health claim is addressed to lots of people, targets vulnerable people, or addresses a severe illness, then it is probably important.
To evaluate the importance of your chosen health claim, your essay must investigate and report on the following things:
• What precisely is the health claim that is being made?
• What organisation (or type of organisation) promotes this health claim?
• To what problem (illness, ailment, etc.) What does the health claim refer to?
• What is the scale of this problem in Australia? (e.g. how many people does it affect, how severe are its effects, how much does this problem cost, etc.)
