Essay, Drug and Crime Project

1) Have a meaningful and enticing paper title and an abstract. Write the abstract AFTER you have completed items 2-10, but place it right after your title, on the same page. An abstract is one paragraph that consists of no more than 250 words and includes: a) the problem and purpose(s) of your paper, b) a short description of why the topic is important, c) a brief summary of the info found/developed relative to the problem selected, and d) a guide for future research/policy/theoretical efforts. (put both on 1 page)

2) Describe and be clear as to what your selected problem is. The “problem” should be posed as an open-ended question that is short, simple, and covers the extent of the topic selected. Provide at least 3 reasons why the problem was chosen and is of value to the CJ discipline. Discuss the importance of the problem and describe how you went about selecting this problem over all others that you could have chosen. (1 page)

3) Describe how you searched for prior work to answer your problem identified in #2. Specify the key words, databases, and search engines that you used. Describe the inclusion or exclusion criteria you used to amass the 15 scholarly sources (20 for graduate students) that you cited throughout the paper. Only academic-peer-reviewed sources–no Wikipedia or lay sources count towards the sources’ quota. (half a page)

4) Explain the theoretical or conceptual framework guiding you or being built from your problem. Describe in detail at least three of your hypotheses. Make it clear why it is you expect/hypothesize these three things relative to your problem. Graduate students include a conceptual model—see the PowerPoint and handout for an example (1-2 pages)

5) Describe your findings from the literature review. Organize these results around the three hypotheses that you pose driven from your policy/perspective/theory selected. Each of the 15-20 scholarly sources must be cited in the body of the paper. (2-3 pages)

6) Make sure that the literature review summarizes multiple ideas on the problem selected and tells a compelling, well-organized story. These ideas should be diverse.

7) Make sure that the literature review includes both the “classics” and recent efforts.

8) Explain simply your results so that a nonexpert in the problem’s field could understand them; discuss the findings relative to the theory/policy brought forth. (half a page)

9) Provide at least three specific suggestions for further research, policy, or theory development on the problem. Be detailed in each of these three recommendations. Stating that more work needs to be done is not acceptable. (1 page)

10) Provide a “References” page(s) using American Psychological Association (APA) style.

Case Study analysis, Read and analyse Alaska Fly Fishing Expedition

Read the Case Study, ‘Alaska Fly Fishing Expedition’ that has been attached

List all the likely risks that this project faces. Make the list as comprehensive as possible. List at least 10 risks.

Assess the probability of each risk occurring and assign it a rating. Use a scale of 1 to 10. A score of 1 is very unlikely to occur and a score of 10 is very likely to occur.

Estimate the impact on the project if each risk occurs. Do this for each and every risk on your list. Using the 1- 10 scale, assign 1 for little impact and 10 for extremely high impact to the project. Develop a response to each risk as well.

Critical Reflection on a clinical placement and Identify one (1) National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standard to which this clinical situation relates

This assessment task is broken up into three (3) integral and interrelated components:
PART A
1. Reflect and write about a situation that occurred within the ward setting while on clinical practicum.
2. Identify one (1) National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standard to which this clinical situation relates.
PART B
3. Produce a print media submission (poster) related to your chosen NSQHS standard and clinical situation; and present your poster over four minutes in a zoom class to your fellow students

Analyze brain damage, describe the case and state the side effects from a psychology basis

Like Phineas Gage, damage to the brain can happen from a number of incidents and damage can be sustained to many parts of the brain. Without using the case of Phineas Gage, find a case where a patient sustained damage somewhere to the brain. Describe the case, analyze the damage, what are some of the side effects from a psychology basis, research what procedures/methods can/may be used, or experimented with, to help the patient in terms of recovering, if they can recover at all, or at least improve their functioning again. List the incident, list the damage to what parts of the brain, and research/list the procedures. What research can back up your claim of it working or not working and explain. Again, this needs to be a well thought out discussion because others may agree or disagree with you (as is in the medical field).

Critically analyse Socialization group within the context of working with at risk populations or marginalised communities

Critically analyse” Socialization group” within the context of working with “at risk” populations or marginalised communities. Consider the strengths and limitations of this type of group work with reference to key theoretical constructs and readings in this unit
Refer to Toseland and Rivas CHAPTER 1, ‘Introduction’
1. Have you clearly identified and defined your chosen group type?
2. Have you given an example of the types of contexts in which this group might be used? Perhaps you could even provide an example of such a group that currently exists?
3. What are the espoused strengths of this type of group?
4. What theories inform the approach to this group? Are there any elements of working with “at risk” or diverse cultural groups that this theory overlooks?
5. What are the limitations of this type of group work?
