Concept analysis of the word compassion

write a concept analysis of the word “compassion”. See below instructions

Identify Concepts to Study (already provided “compassion”)

Identify a concept you wish to study by examining specific areas of nursing that interest you, fall within your current nursing study and have a connection to nursing research and practice. Choosing a field of study for the paper should be based in the theory framework of nursing as a dynamic practice and research-based science. For example, the concept of empowerment and its relationship to mental health nursing has been subjected to a concept analysis. Other potential study examples include breathlessness and pregnancy.

Conduct Literature Review

Conduct a literature review on your chosen concept from a broad range of disciplines. Don’t look just nursing science. For example, also consider including the disciplines of clinical sociology, community psychology, patient care, nursing technology, elder care or abuse prevention. Literature reviews can be related directly to nursing research or look at collaborations with other fields.

Identify Key Concept Characteristics

Identify the key characteristics or attributes of your concept. For example, a key characteristic of the pregnancy concept is a fetal heartbeat. Key characteristics of empowerment include that it is both a process and an outcome, and that is both a communal and positive concept.

Identify Concept Antecedents and Consequences

Identify the concept antecedents and consequences. By definition, antecedents are incidents leading to the concept. For example, the antecedents of pregnancy are ovulation and sexual intercourse. Consequences instead follow the concept. For example, the consequence of pregnancy is either miscarriage or birth.

Construct Analysis Model

Construct your analysis using a model, contrary, related and a borderline case. A model case shares all of the key characteristics of the concept, all the defining criteria and at least one of the antecedents and consequences. A contrary case has none of the defining characteristics, a related case has a similar defining characteristic and a borderline case might be a metaphoric use of the concept. Within the concept of pregnancy, a model case might deal with a concealed pregnancy that the woman was unaware of and the related antecedents and consequences. By contrast, a contrary case could also involve a concealed pregnancy that the woman was unaware of. For example, a woman arriving at the hospital followed by an unexpected birth would be a contrary case because she was unaware of any antecedents.

Criminal sentencing

Criminal sentencing embraces a number of philosophies and seeks to satisfy sometimes conflicting goals: retribution, incapacitation, deterrence, rehabilitation, and restoration. The means to accomplish those tasks have traditionally been comprised of fines, probation, imprisonment, and death. To adapt to the financial, social, and international pressures, the criminal justice system has experimented with mandatory, indeterminate, and structured sentencing. However, each defendant-based alternative must be viewed with in the light of its impact on the victims and society at-large.

select 2 scholarly articles from the criminal justice databases, and integrate those resources to discuss the practical implications of alternative and innovative sentencing options. Finally, integrate within your discussion the impact of a Judeo-Christian viewpoint on the viability of such new sentencing options

A feasibility analysis is a chance to open your eyes

“A feasibility analysis is a chance to open your eyes, ask yourself some very tough questions, then check to see whether your idea, as originally conceived, needs to be modified, refocused, or changed dramatically. (Or perhaps even scrapped altogether.)” (Abrams, as cited in Scarborough & Cornwall, 2015, p. 237).

A promotional introduction for a job posting that is designed to spur interest

In this activity, you are asked to write the following items that are intended to guide human resources in their crafting of the position requirements:

A promotional introduction for a job posting that is designed to spur interest. It should use and identify two motivational techniques or practices that you have studied to entice candidates into applying for the position.
An analysis of the leadership qualities that you are seeking in your team of three regional motivational programs managers. It should focus on the leadership KSAs that you are seeking in your managers.
Directions
Consider the CapraTek activity and write a professionally formatted two-page memo to human resources, which includes the following two parts.

Part I: Leadership KSAs
Analyze the leadership KSAs that you are seeking in your candidates for the motivational programs manager positions. Make sure to include any assumptions or premises regarding the position or candidates, which enables you to elaborate the background that you feel helps communicate your requirements. The intent is to help human resources write an effective job posting, so any information that you can give them as background will be helpful.

Part 2: Job Posting Introduction
Write a job posting promotional introduction that utilizes and specifically identifies two proven motivational techniques or practices. The idea is to create content that will generate interest in the position. Note: Include the technique or practice and their supporting references at the end of the document in a notes section.

Communication Skills for Health & Human Service Personnel

Differences of opinion with a co-worker. Disagreements with your significant other. Arguments with relatives or friends. What do each of these scenarios have in common? Your ability to manage conflict is either effective or ineffective. How do you know if it’s effective or ineffective, and how can you learn from it? In this first discussion for the final week, you will consider areas of strength and improvement associated with your own style of conflict management based on your own experiences.

Read Chapter 11 from The Interpersonal Communication Book; answer the 10 true/false statements regarding your interpersonal conflict behavior (p. 297 – 298). Then, review your results and consider whether your interpersonal conflict management skills are effective or ineffective.

Initial Post: Prepare a reply that sufficiently addresses each of the items below.
Identify personal communication strengths and growth. Describe at least two strengths and two growth areas.
Consider an actual example from your own personal or professional experience where you could have been more effective. How would you go about following the conflict management steps on pp. 292-296?

Guided Response: Consider ways in which you might like to interact with your peers. For example, did you find any commonalities in terms of your strengths/areas for improvement and theirs? Do you have any practical suggestions to share regarding how to solve a particular conflict?

The Value of Fair Treatment in the Workplace

The Value of Fair Treatment in the Workplace

You have been hired as a management consultant by a large company to examine the company’s business decisions regarding employee protections. The applicable laws are federal anti-discrimination laws, federal health and safety laws, and employer firing practices related to the employment-at-will (EAW) doctrine.

In response to the three questions below, write a 4–6 page paper in which you do the following:

Analyze, identify, and explain recent legislation, within the last 10 years, that helps to protect employees from discrimination in the workplace. Provide at least two federal legislative protections. Provide some insight when the federal legislation conflicts with the state.

Explain the EAW doctrine and all exceptions to the doctrine. Look at the scenarios below and determine whether the decision to fire the employee is a smart one. Identify why or why not, and determine all the possible exceptions per the EAW doctrine that are, might be, or could be applicable if the employee sues for wrongful termination.

Brenda, a manager, started a blog on the company website for employee grievances. She noticed that a worker was protesting that no Asian American employees had gotten a raise in two years at the company. The worker also criticized how much the CEO made and how the CEO was “out of touch.” Brenda reprimanded the worker. The next day, the worker talked to fellow co-workers about forming a union. Brenda subsequently fired the worker.

Jason, a department supervisor, requests approval to fire his secretary, Alice. Alice, a devout Christian, has been putting Right-to-Life flyers in the employee breakroom. Alice is also taking time out to pray each day during the busiest time of the morning.

Brian, the head of the accounting department, refused to sign Lori’s leave request for jury duty. Lori is a tax attorney in his department. Brian wants to fire Lori for being absent without permission during their busiest time—tax season.

Peter has worked for the company for one year. He has a rare form of liver disease and works with chemicals that make his condition worse. Peter does not want to stop working, but his boss is not happy with his performance and wants to let him go.

Determine the federal law regarding undocumented workers and whether they are eligible for state workers’ compensation in the United States. Advocate for or against this practice and substantiate your response with research to support your position.

sunscreen effectiveness – natural vs. chemical

The American Academy of Dermatology (2018) states that skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States. One in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. Protecting our skin from harmful ultraviolet rays is imperative. However, the human body does benefit from a mild to moderate amount of UV radiation.

What is the best way to protect your skin from sun-related damage? What are the advantages and disadvantages to sunscreens containing common active ingredients such as oxybenzone, octocrylene, and homosalate? Are there benefits to using mineral sunscreens, such as zinc oxide or titanium dioxide? How effective are natural sunscreens, such as coconut oil or shea butter? If a sunscreen product is not regulated by the FDA, how can you determine if the product’s claims are true?
